Say "I Do" To Secret Pinterest Boards

If you're a Pinterest addict like myself you may have seen a girlfriend of yours pin to a wedding themed board. Or worse, you're the girlfriend pinning to a "Dream Wedding" board.

Ladies, everyone knows we've been dreaming of the day we walk down the aisle in a gorgeous white gown holding a perfectly arranged bouquet of flowers with a HUGE 3 carat diamond ring on our finger. But if you're not engaged and you're pinning your heart away to a "Future Wedding" board, you're going to scare your future prince away.

So take my advice and make it a Secret Board. It's really simple, whatever you pin on these boards are only view-able by you! No need to worry about your boyfriend finding out you've been planning a whole wedding before your fifth date.

Now you're thinking "how will he ever know what ring I want?" Ladies, every man should know they need to go to your best friend for these things. And that's why you should invite your trustworthy bestie to pin to your Secret Board too!

Here's everything you need to know about Secret Boards:

Making a Secret Board takes three easy steps!

(1) Click your name at the top of Pinterest. Then click "Your Boards"

(2) Scroll to the bottom of "Your Boards"

(3) Click Create a Secret Board. Choose a name and category. The secret setting will already be set to Yes which means your board is secret.

Sad note to those "unengaged" who already have a public wedding board: You can't make an existing public board secret.

There's a limit. Six secret boards is all you can have. Pinterest needs to work on that one for all us pinaholics! As much as it will hurt your organized soul, there is  no need to get crazy categorizing since you only get six boards.

​Go public, if you must. You can make a secret board public if you already have six boards and NEED to make room for another. Ladies, just make sure it's not wedding related—unless you're finally engaged. In that case, Mazel Tov!

Accept those invites! You can participate on as many secret boards as your pinning heart desires and they won't count against your six board limit. So go ahead, accept the invitations.
